On August 9, 2019, George Toriello sent me this material on Daniel Barton Lempka. 

Daniel Barton Lempka, according to the Federal Census, was born in 1921 and lived in Warwick, New York in 1925. The 1940 census has him living in Queens, New York and says he is a nephew in the household. 
Daniel enlistment into the service on November 10, 1942. Daniel Barton Lempka was Killed in Action, according to military records, on December 20, 1943 and Daniel’s family was living at 276 Hamilton Place in Hackensack, which is stated in the June 21, 1944 Record news article. The news article, which is reporting his death 6 months after the fact, states his mother, Mrs. Laura Lempka and her three sons, Daniel, Edward, Reginald, and daughter Antoinette, were living together on Hamilton Place at the time. This would explain why his name is on the Plaque at City Hall in Hackensack. The American Air Museum in Britain states that Daniel B. Lempka received a Purple Heart and a Distinguished Flying Cross and is buried in Netherlands in the Netherlands American Cemetery and Memorial. The Air Museum in Britain adds this on the events of his final day:
